Best Children's Books

Ever since I was a little girl, I loved to read! Even now I still read Children's Books, partly because I have a 9 year old brother.

These are great books to read to infants up to 6 year old children:

1. Goodnight Moon by Margaret Brown

2. The Frog and Toad Collection by Arnold Lobel

3. The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf
Don't judge by appearances only.

4. Cordoruy by Don Freeman

5. Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst

6. The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss (and all of Dr. Seuss's books for that matter)

7. The Garden of Abdul Gasazi by Chris Van Allsburg

8. Strega Nona by Tomie dePaola
One of my favorites.
"Now simmer down my pot of clay until I'm hungry another day."
At least I think that's what it said.

9. Amelia Bedelia by Peggy Parish

10. Love You Forever by Robert Munsch

There will be tears when you read this book. This is my sister's favorite children's book, so she recently bought this book to my little brother.

11. The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle

12. The Little Engine That Could by Watty Piper
Good message to all.

13. If you give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff

14. Miss Nelson Is Missing by Harry Allard
Appreciate your teachers.

15. Clifford the Big Red Dog by Norman Bridwell
Watched this show with my little brother all the time.

16. Curious George by H.A Rey
Used to watch the show with my little brother everyday.

17. Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed by Eileen Christelow
Don't jump on your bed!

18. Goldilocks and the Three Bears by multliple authors (as there is many retellings of this story)
Don't sleep on someone else's bed!

19. The Little Red Hen by Paul Galdone

20. Twas the Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore

21. Doctor De Soto by William Steig

22. The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein

23. The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister
Instant classic. Probably one of the most colorful books my young eyes had seen at the time.

24. The Napping House by Audrey Wood

Which of these books do you remember reading as a kid? And which ones are you most excited for your kids to read?
